"Patch Umpires"
Patch Umpires are experienced, association-certified adults hired to officiate DLL games.  Umpires officiate Juniors, Major, Minor and certain AAA league softball games.

"Student Umpires"
Since 1998, Darien Little League has trained and employed student umpires.  Our goal is to find young people with leadership, character and judgment.  A candidate can be male or female, in seventh grade or older, and able to attend mandatory training.  DLL provides assists new umpires in becoming familiar with rules and game situations.  Contact Dan Volin (d.volin49@gmail.com) for more information. 
 
 
Scorekeepers
 
Working the lighted scoreboard at McGuane Challenger Field.  Must diligently and accurately display innings, outs and ball & strike count based upon the plate umpire’s signals.  Open to girls currently playing in Juniors, Majors or Minors League.  No experience necessary.  Compensation: $10 per game.
 
Softball games are scheduled most weekday nights and several on Saturdays and Sundays.  Contact Dan Volin (d.volin49@gmail.com) with the following information and you will be put you our “Scorekeeper Roster”. Each week, you will receive and email to confirm your availability and, then, game assignment.
