Spring 2023 Baseball Age and Tuition Requirements

For Tee Ball through Minors, a player's school grade determines his or her league.  However, based on a player's age and talent level, he or she has the opportunity to play up in a higher league than his or her school grade would otherwise dictate, if there are spots available, beginning with the AAA league.

Little League age is calculated based on the player's age on August 31st.

* All 2nd Graders have the option to play in AA Ball.  2nd Graders who are 8 years old by August 31, 2022 may also attend a separate AAA evaluation, as there may be a limited number of 2nd Grade 8 year olds needed to fill in some AAA roster spots.  If a player tries out for AAA but does not get chosen he or she will be placed automatically on a AA team.

** All 3rd Graders have the option to play in AAA Ball.  All 3rd Graders  are required to attend the AAA Evaluations. 3rd Graders who are 9 years old by
August 31, 2022 may be invited to play minors based upon their AAA evaluation as there may be a limited number of 3rd Grade 9 year olds needed to fill in some Minors roster spots. If a player misses the AAA Evaluations there will be no opportunity to move up to play Minors.

*** All 4th Graders have the option to play in Minors.  4th Graders who are 10 years old by 
August 31, 2022 may also try out for Majors.  If a player tries out for Majors but does not get chosen he or she will be placed automatically on a Minors team

 
DLL New Player Field Improvement Fee - Increased participation in the baseball and softball programs has put enormous pressure on all of our facilities. In order to continue to maintain and improve McGuane and to ensure the highest quality playing conditions at all of the other facilities that we use on an on going basis, the Field Improvement Fee of $100 will be assessed for first time registrants in Spring Darien Little League (returning players are not required to pay this fee).  If a player has played Summer Ball or Fall Ball but has not played in the Spring season he or she is considered a New Player.  The maximum field improvement fee per family is $200.

Board of Education Field Use Fee: The BOE has instituted a mandatory fee of $28 per player, per sport, per season to use the Darien school fields.  This fee will be in addition to your base registration fee and is automatically added.
 
Town of Darien Use Fee:  The Town of Darien has institutes a mandatory fee of $5 per player, per sport, per season to use Town of Darien fields. This fee will be in addition to your base registration fee and is automatically added.

DLL Annual Membership Fee: $10.  Members are permitted to vote each year at the Annual Meeting.

T-Ball, A Ball, AA Ball: Refunds will be issued (less a $25 processing fee) before the player's first game. After the player's first game, refunds will only be issued (on a pro-rata basis) for season-ending injuries with a doctor's note.

AAA, Minors, Majors:
Refunds will be issued (less a $25 processing fee) before notification of team rosters. After notification of team rosters, refunds will only be issued (on a pro-rata basis) for season-ending injuries with a doctor's note.
